TO THE PETRACH PROGRAM ON UKRAINE
About the Petrach Program on Ukraine
The Petrach Program on Ukraine was established in 1996 as part of the Institute for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (IERES) at George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs. Initiated with the William and Helen Petrach Endowment for Ukrainian Studies, the program fosters academic research, discussion, teaching, and scholarship focused on Ukraine’s evolving international relations, political landscape, societal dynamics, and cultural heritage. A hub for Ukrainian Studies in the Washington, DC, area, the program features over a dozen faculty associates from George Washington University and other area institutions, an associated student organization, a vibrant residential and non-residential visiting scholar program, a vast network of former associates now in leading positions, and an active program of events on topics critical to Ukraine’s politics, society, and culture, and international relations.
