The selected fellow will join the IERES intellectual community in Washington, D.C., for four months during the Spring 2027 semester.<\/p><p style=\"font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 16px; font-family: 'Open Sans', sans-serif;\">The fellow will be expected to pursue their proposed research project while in residence at IERES, give a research presentation at IERES, present in the Petrach Program&#8217;s Online Conference on April 23, 2027, and participate in relevant university and institute activities. There is no teaching requirement associated with this fellowship.<\/p><p><b>Fellowship period:<\/b> January 15\u2013May 15, 2027<br \/><b>Stipend:<\/b> $5,000 per month ($20,000 total). If needed, the fellowship will also cover reasonable visa-related expenses and one round-trip ticket between the fellow\u2019s base location and Washington, D.C. Fellows are responsible for other expenses, including housing and health insurance, from their fellowship stipend.<br \/><b>Application deadline:<\/b> October 1, 2026<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-10f55f7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"10f55f7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Eligibility<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8f430a5 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8f430a5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"p3\">Applicants must:<\/p><ul><li><p>Hold a PhD or Candidate of Science degree at the time of application;<\/p><\/li><li><p>Be currently or previously based in Ukraine;<\/p><\/li><li><p>Work on a topic at the intersection of Ukrainian studies and international affairs, broadly defined; and<\/p><\/li><li><p>Be professionally fluent in English.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p class=\"p2\">Previous holders of IERES fellowships are welcome to apply, though preference may be given to applicants who have not previously held an IERES fellowship or whose fellowship was less recent.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2a168af elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"2a168af\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Application Requirements<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3a49894 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3a49894\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Applicants should complete the online application form and submit:<\/p><ul><li><p>An English-language CV;<\/p><\/li><li><p>A cover letter of no more than two pages describing the research project they would pursue during the fellowship and explaining how a period at IERES would benefit their work; and<\/p><\/li><li><p>The names and contact information of two references.
