The Petrach Program on Ukraine at the George Washington University\u2019s Institute for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (IERES) offers fellowship opportunities in Ukraine Studies that are open to scholars based in Ukraine or who were based there before February 24, 2022.<\/p>

Who may apply:<\/strong>\u00a0Scholars who have already earned their PhD or Candidate of Science degree; are based in Ukraine or were based there up until February 24, 2022; are working on any topic at the intersection of Ukrainian studies and international affairs, broadly defined; are professionally fluent in English; and have not held this fellowship or one of our in-residence fellowships since 2022. The selected Fellows will stay in Ukraine or wherever they are based currently during their fellowship. Who may apply:<\/strong> Early-career scholars who have obtained their PhD or Candidate of Science degree within the past 10 years, are based in Ukraine or were based there up until February 24, 2022; are working on any topic at the intersection of Ukrainian studies and international affairs, broadly defined; are professionally fluent in English; and have not previously held a Junior Visiting fellowship. Who may apply:<\/strong> Senior scholars who are based in Ukraine or were based there up until February 24, 2022; are working on any topic at the intersection of Ukrainian studies and international affairs, broadly defined; are professionally fluent in English; and did not hold this particular fellowship or our Junior Visiting Fellowship previously (since 2022).
