The Ukraine Studies Fellowship is offered in partnership with the Kyiv School of Economics and the Ukrainian Global University. The fellowship is

Tetiana Klynina<\/h3>

Tetiana Klynina is an Associate Professor at the State University \"Kyiv Aviation Institute\u201d, an analyst at the Center for Content Analysis, and Academic Secretary of the Scientific Society for the History of Diplomacy and International Relations (Kyiv, Ukraine). She is a member of the editorial boards of the peer-reviewed yearbook Diplomatic Ukraine and the journal Ukrainian Cultural Studies. From 2022 to 2026, she was a Visiting Scholar at the Slavic and Eurasian Studies Department and a Senior Research Fellow at the Clements Center for National Security at the University of Texas at Austin, where she led a research team at the Global Disinformation Lab investigating Russian historical narratives about Ukraine as a tool of disinformation. She has held research fellowships at Nev\u015fehir Hac\u0131 Bekta\u015f Veli University, Turkey (2018), the National Archives of Finland, Helsinki (2019), and New Europe College, Romania (2025). She also serves as a Case Study Expert at the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies, an initiative launched by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska.\n\nHer research sits at the intersection of American and Ukrainian history, tracing how diplomacy, information, and power shape national identity and international relations. On the American side, her work examines the U.S. Department of State's institutional role in shaping foreign policy during the Cold War. On the Ukrainian side, her research focuses on \u0435\u0440\u0443 U.S.-Ukrainian relationship, informal cultural practices, and social media as tools of information aggression and disinformation. She also contributes analytical pieces to Detector Media, one of Ukraine's leading media monitoring and fact-checking platforms.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Oleksandr Romanishyn<\/h3>

Oleksandr Romanishyn is an economist and economic-development strategist working at the intersection of business, technology, public policy, and civil society. His work bridges Ukraine, Europe, and the United States, advancing transatlantic economic partnership. He is a Board Member and Think Tank Lead of ISE Group, a think tank and accelerator ranked by the Financial Times among Europe's top innovation hubs. As Principal Investigator of UA2USA, he leads the first national study mapping the Ukrainian-American business community and quantifying its contribution to the U.S. economy in jobs, revenue, investment, and taxes, and he serves as an Adviser to the Ukrainian-American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UACCI). He also evaluates deep-tech ventures as a member of the European Innovation Council (EIC) jury. He earlier served as Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, and before government, spent more than a decade in cross-border M&A and corporate finance, including at Ernst & Young, where he founded the first Big-Four-anchored startup accelerator in Ukraine.\n\nRomanishyn is the author and co-author of numerous policy papers, research reports, and articles on economic resilience, democratic security, energy transition, transatlantic policy, and foreign information manipulation and interference. Ola (Aleksandra) Hnatiuk <\/h3>

Ola (Aleksandra) Hnatiuk is a historian, literary scholar, translator, public activist, and former diplomat, having served in a diplomatic capacity from 2006 to 2010. She holds the academic title of Professor Dr. Hab. and is a Professor at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and Professor Emeritus at the University of Warsaw.\n\nHnatiuk is the author of numerous books, scholarly publications, source editions, and essays in Polish and Ukrainian. Her latest book, Odwaga i strach (Courage and Fear), received the Ksawery Pruszy\u0144ski Polish PEN Club Award in 2018. Its Ukrainian translation, Vidvaha i strakh, won the Grand Prix at the Lviv Publishers\u2019 Forum in 2015, and the English translation, Courage and Fear, was published in 2020 by Academic Studies Press in cooperation with the Ukrainian Research Institute at Harvard University. Her earlier books include Mizh literaturoiu i politykoiu. Eseii ta intermedii, Po\u017cegnanie z imperium. Ukrai\u0144skie dyskusje o to\u017csamo\u015bci, Bunt pokolenia. Rozmowy z intelektualistami ukrai\u0144skimi, co-authored with Bogumi\u0142a Berdychowska, and Ukraiins\u2019ka barokowa relihiina pisnia.\n\nShe has edited and translated dozens of books in Polish and Ukrainian and, from 1998 to 2005, directed a translation seminar for translators working between Polish, Ukrainian, Belarusian, and Russian. She also organized an open lecture series on Polish-Ukrainian relations at the University of Warsaw and the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. From 2006 to 2019, she chaired the jury of the Jerzy Giedroyc Award for the best master\u2019s theses and doctoral dissertations.\n\nHnatiuk is a member of the Ukrainian PEN Club, where she served as Vice-President from 2018 to 2022, and has served on the editorial boards of several scholarly journals. She is also Editor-in-Chief of the Kyiv-based annual journal Polski studii.\n\nHer scholarly achievements and civic engagement have been recognized with numerous distinctions, including the Pol-Cul Foundation Prize, the Przegl\u0105d Wschodni Award, the Jerzy Giedroyc Scholarly Award, the Antonovych Prize for scholarly achievement and contributions to Polish-Ukrainian reconciliation, and the Ji magazine award for intellectual courage. Yana Volkova<\/h3>

Yana Volkova graduated from Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University (Ukraine) and received her PhD in Political Science in 2018. Her research focuses on discursive nation-building, with particular attention to the state's role in shaping, maintaining, and transforming national identities through narratives and discourse. She is especially interested in processes of extraterritorial identity construction and the ways states influence populations beyond their national borders.\nHer PhD research examined the impact of the Turkish state on identity formation among Muslim communities in Bulgaria. From 2022 to 2025, as a British Academy Fellow at Queen\u2019s University Belfast, she investigated the discursive construction of Russian national identity in occupied Ukrainian territories. Building on this work, her current research seeks to develop a conceptual framework for the study of state-led multimodal discursive nation-building.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Tetiana Kurbatova<\/h3>

Tetiana Kurbatova is an Associate Professor in the Department of International Economic Relations at Sumy State University, specializing in energy policy, energy security, energy economics, and sustainable energy transitions. Her research examines the transformation of energy systems in the context of geopolitical instability, hybrid threats, and regulatory uncertainty, with a particular focus on policy measures that strengthen energy resilience and support long-term sustainability. Tetiana Kurbatova has contributed to numerous research projects funded by national and international institutions. She has been awarded several research fellowships, including fellowships from the British Academy and Indiana University Bloomington. She has also served as a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Sussex, the University of Liverpool, and the Zurich University of Applied Sciences.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Andriy Posunko<\/h3>

Andriy Posunko defended his PhD thesis at the Central European University in 2018. His research focused on the social and military history of Cossack units in the Pontic Steppe region. His other publications deal with the peculiarities of irregular military service in Southern Ukraine, Bessarabia, and the Caucasus; trans-imperial movement of people, goods, and ideas between Russian, Ottoman, and Habsburg empires; as well as ambiguities of social and legal status of the inhabitants in the borderlands contested by these three states. Currently, he serves in the Ukrainian army. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Vitalii Borymskyi <\/h3>

Vitalii Borymskyi is a historian specializing in Polish\u2013Ukrainian and Russian\u2013Ukrainian relations. He is a Research Fellow at the Institute of History of Ukraine, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He obtained his Ph.D. in History from Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy and has held research fellowships at Nicolaus Copernicus University, the University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University, and Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute (HURI). His work has been published in The Polish Review, East European Politics and Societies, and Acta Baltico-Slavica, among other journals. He received the Jerzy Giedroyc Award (2016) from the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kyiv for his doctoral dissertation and the L. Krzy\u017canowski Award (2023) from the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America for the best article of the year.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Iryna Maidanik<\/h3>

Iryna Maidanik is a Leading Researcher in the Migration Department at the Mykhaylo Ptoukha Institute for Demography and Life Quality Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv). Her research covers a broad range of migration-related issues. Before Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, she focused primarily on Ukrainian labor migration abroad; since 2022, her work has concentrated on war-induced migration and displacement.\nIryna is the author of more than 100 academic publications, including two monographs: Ukrainian Youth in Foreign Labor Markets (2010) and Temporal Characteristics of External Labor Migration in Ukraine (2020). She has collaborated with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Ukraine and the Spanish National Research Council (Madrid). In addition, she serves as a peer reviewer for scientific journals in Ukraine and internationally.\nOver the past two years, Iryna has been actively involved in developing Ukraine\u2019s State Migration Policy Strategy, contributing expertise that integrates current migration trends with the country\u2019s demographic and socio-economic priorities and needs.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Denys Brylov<\/h3>

Denys Brylov is a psychologist and anthropologist of religion, doctor of philosophical sciences (DSc) in Religious Studies and Theology (2021). Head of the Department of Modern Studies at the A. Krymsky Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv). His main research interests are the history of Islam in Ukraine, religion and politics, religion and peacebuilding, and the role of religion in conflicts. Denys Brylov is the author of more than 100 publications in English, French, German, Danish, Turkish, Polish, and Ukrainian. He is also the recipient of the Agatangel Krymsky Prize for outstanding research in the field of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (2025). In 2026, De Gruyter Brill published his monograph \u2018(Un)known Islam in Ukraine. Nataliya Vinnykova<\/h3>

Nataliya Vinnykova is a Doctor Habilis in Political Science and the Head of the International Relations Department at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Ukraine. Her research and teaching focus on global governance, political decision-making under non-linear dynamics, and the geopolitical impact of Artificial Intelligence on international relations and democracy. She has been actively involved in international academic initiatives, including the AURORA 2030 Alliance project (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Netherlands) and the JOUKRAINE project at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences (Germany).\nIn addition to her academic leadership, Dr. Vinnykova possesses field-based humanitarian experience, having worked with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) on community resilience and protection in frontline regions. She is the author of over 120 publications, including the award-winning monograph \"Paradoxes of Political Decisions in the Epoch of Post-Democracy\" (2019). As a Petrach Non-Resident Fellow, Dr. Vinnykova will advance her research project, \"The Security-Democracy Paradox: Frontline Governance and Academic Freedom in Ukraine,\" which explores models of democratic resilience, decision-making, and institutional adaptation under existential threats.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Serhii Rudko<\/h3>

Serhii Rudko is a Senior Lieutenant in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a Senior Lecturer at the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy. He also serves as Head of the Department of Regional Studies at the National University of Ostroh Academy. Dr. Rudko holds a PhD in History and an MA in International Relations and has been a Visiting Scholar at Indiana University Bloomington since 2023.\n\nHis research focuses on international security, coalition-based military assistance to Ukraine, defense cooperation, and the transformation of European security in the context of Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion. Combining academic expertise with military service, he studies the institutionalization of allied support mechanisms, regional security cooperation, and the impact of international military assistance on Ukraine\u2019s defense capabilities. His recent scholarship has examined military support provided by the United Kingdom, the Nordic-Baltic states, Australia, and other partners, as well as the broader evolution of security partnerships supporting Ukraine.\n\nDr. Rudko is the author of numerous scholarly publications on international relations, security studies, and military history, including articles in the Ukrainian Historical Journal and other peer-reviewed journals. His current research explores coalition-based military assistance to Ukraine and its implications for the future European security architecture.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Katerina Sirinyok-Dolgaryova<\/h3>

Katerina Sirinyok-Dolgaryova is an Associate Professor in the Department of Journalism at Zaporizhzhia National University, Ukraine. Currently, she is pursuing a doctoral degree in Mass Communication and Media Arts at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She holds a Candidate of Sciences degree in Social Communications, as well as Master\u2019s degrees with Honors in Journalism and English Philology. Her research focuses on peace and solutions journalism, media and information literacy, disinformation and propaganda in the Russian-Ukrainian war, online journalism, social media, and media education. She has participated in several international research and study programs, including a Scholar-at-Risk Fellowship at the Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia, University of Michigan (2022\u20132025); the IREX University Administration Support Program at Utah State University (2016); the Fulbright Research and Development Program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (2013\u20132014); the U-LEAD study program at European University Viadrina, Germany (2018); and the UGRAD Program at Graceland University (2005\u20132006). As an Erasmus+ fellow, she has visited universities in the UK, Sweden, and Poland. Additionally, Dr. Sirinyok-Dolgaryova has served as an academic coordinator and principal investigator for several Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Modules and CBHE projects. She is also an International Expert of the Sectoral Expert Council in Social Sciences at the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance in Ukraine.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Lyudmyla Kolisnyk<\/h3>

Lyudmyla Kolisnyk is a counseling psychologist with 19 years of professional experience, specializing in the psychodynamic approach. She holds a PhD in Developmental and Educational Psychology and is the author of numerous scientific publications and educational courses for university students. Her research interests include adolescent psychology and mental health, emotional intelligence, trauma responses, and post-traumatic growth.\n\nIn addition to her academic and clinical work, she has been actively involved in professional organizations, serving as a Board Member of the National Psychological Association of Ukraine and as Deputy Head of the Association of Psychologists of the Higher School of Ukraine. Following the outbreak of the full-scale war in Ukraine in 2022, she relocated to Denmark with the support of a research fellowship. Since then, she has continued her work in academia and non-governmental organizations while providing crisis intervention, psychological support, and psychotherapy to Ukrainians both within Ukraine and abroad.\n\nHer current research focuses on two projects: (1) investigating the impact of retreat-based interventions on the psycho-emotional well-being of Ukrainian psychologists and psychotherapists during the ongoing war in Ukraine, in collaboration with the Danish Psychotherapy Association; and (2) examining the mental well-being of at-risk youth with a migrant background in European countries within the Erasmus+ project \u201cCROSSWAY\u201d (KA220-YOU).\n<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Oleh Brovko<\/h3>

Oleh Brovko is an Associate Professor in the Department of International Relations and Political Philosophy at Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics, Ukraine. He is currently a Visiting Researcher at the Federal University of Latin American Integration (UNILA) in Brazil. He holds a PhD in Political Science from V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, where his dissertation examined Polish local government in the context of democratization in Central and Eastern Europe. His research interests include local government resilience, decentralization, crisis governance, central-local coordination, participatory budgeting, and local democracy in Ukraine and Central and Eastern Europe. His work examines how democratic institutions and local government systems respond to institutional stress, external threats, and emergency governance. Since the start of Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Dr. Brovko has developed a research agenda on wartime local governance, democratic resilience, and participatory democracy under martial law. His recent publications include articles on local government resilience in the face of Russian aggression, participatory budgeting under martial law in Ukraine, and the territorial and decentralization reform in Ukraine. Dr. Brovko has held research positions at the West University of Timi\u0219oara in Romania, the University of M\u00fcnster in Germany, and at the Federal University for Latin American Integration (UNILA) in Brazil. He has also received several competitive fellowships and scholarships, including the International Visegrad Fund Post-master\u2019s Scholarship, a research fellowship within the framework of the Iwan Wyhowski Award, and the Lane Kirkland Scholarship.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Maksym Obrizan<\/h3>

Maksym Obrizan is an Associate Professor at the Kyiv School of Economics, where he has been a faculty member since 2010. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Iowa (United States) and specializes in the economics of transition, applied health economics, macroeconomics, and the economics of health and well-being.\n\nDr. Obrizan has published extensively in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Comparative Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, and World Development. His research examines the socioeconomic and health consequences of economic transformation, health system performance, and population well-being in transition and post-conflict settings. He currently serves as editor of RePEc New Economic Papers in Transition Economics and regularly reviews manuscripts for international academic journals.\n\nBeyond academia, Dr. Obrizan has contributed to policy-oriented research and advisory projects for international organizations and government institutions, including the World Bank, USAID, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, and the Economist Intelligence Unit. Recently, he worked with the WHO Council on the Economics of Health for All, where his research interests expanded toward the broader economic determinants of health and well-being.\n\nHe is a frequent contributor to public policy discussions through articles published by Vox Ukraine and regularly presents his research at international academic conferences.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Ekaterina Bataeva<\/h3>

Kateryna Bataieva (Ekaterina Bataeva) is a professor in the Department of Social Rehabilitation Technologies at the Zhytomyr Institute of Economics and Humanities of the Open International University of Human Development \u2018Ukraine\u2019 in Kyiv. She studied Sociology at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and holds a PhD and a Habilitation in Philosophical Sciences from the same institution. She has held the following positions: Assistant Professor at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (1996\u20131998); Associate Professor at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs (1998\u20132008); and Associate Professor and Professor in the Sociology and Humanities Department at Kharkiv University of Humanities \u201cPeople\u2019s Ukrainian Academy\u201d (2008\u20132022). From 2024 to 2025, she was a non-resident fellow at the KIU \u2013 Competence Network Interdisciplinary Ukrainian Studies (Frankfurt (Oder)-Berlin), working on the project \u201cHigher education in a frontline city: institutional, organizational and personal peculiarities of education during the Russian-Ukrainian war\u201d. From 2020 to 2024, he taught at Dnipro University of Technology in Ukraine, where he continued his research and teaching until Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion displaced him. His scholarship examines Russia\u2019s wars in Ukraine, hybrid warfare, and the shifting dynamics of the post-Soviet space, with particular attention to Ukraine\u2019s agency in resisting Russian aggression. His recent article, Disrupting the Narrative: Ukrainian Agency in Resisting Russia and Winning Western Support, was published in Europe-Asia Studies. Pavlo Smytsnyuk is a Ukrainian scholar of religion. He specializes in political theology, modern Greek and Slavic Orthodoxy, religious nationalism, and peacebuilding. From 2022 to 2024, Pavlo was a Seeger O\u2019Boyle Associate Research Scholar at Princeton University. Before the Russian aggression against Ukraine, Pavlo served as the Director of the Institute of Ecumenical Studies and a Senior Lecturer at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv, Ukraine. Pavlo has published on issues such as comparative theology, ecumenical dialogue, as well as religious approaches to tolerance, war, and the ecological crisis. Since 2021, he has been a member of the State Department\u2019s Advisory Council on Religions and Ethnicities of Ukraine and has led several international projects. Yuliya Bidenko<\/h3>

Yuliya Bidenko is an Associate Professor and a Curator for the Master\u2019s Program at Karazin Kharkiv National University, Political Science Department. For the spring semester of 2024, she is affiliated with the SCRIPTS Excellence Cluster at the Free University of Berlin as a Senior Visitor Research Fellow, and during 2023 was a Visiting U-NET Fellow at the Centre for Eastern European and International Studies (ZOiS) in Berlin. In 2022, she joined the National Platform for Resilience and Reconciliation as a regional coordinator in eastern Ukraine and co-established the Ukrainian-based NGO \u201cAssociation of Civic Educators,\u201d supported by the International Foundation for the Electoral Systems (IFES). In 2021-2022, Dr. Bidenko was an expert and the author of the Ukrainian annual country report for the \u201cNations in Transit\u201d by the Freedom House. Borys Kormych<\/h3>

Borys Kormych is a professor of law and the department head at the National University Odesa Law Academy in Ukraine. He obtained his LLM in 1999, PhD in Law in 2000, and Dr. Sc. in Law in 2005. His research focuses on Black Sea Security, International Trade, the Ukrainian political system, and public administration. He is a member of the Public Council at the State Customs Service of Ukraine and an arbitrator at the Ukrainian Maritime Arbitration Commission. Additionally, he serves as the editor-in-chief of the Lex Portus journal. In the past year, he held a non-residence fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His previous roles also included participation in several research projects funded by the ERASMUS and Council of Europe programs. Marian Lopata is an Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science of Ukrainian Catholic University. He graduated from the Centre of East European Studies at the University of Warsaw in 2011 (Poland). He received his PhD in 2015 (thesis entitled \u201cComparative analysis of the formation, stability, and efficiency of the Coalition Governments in Visegrad Group countries\u201d) at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine). His research interests include the political transformation of Central and Eastern European countries, the political preferences of national minorities, minority issues, political parties and party systems, and voting behavior in Eastern Europe. Since 2017, he has participated in academic mobility programs with several European universities. Dr. Lopata was a fellow of the Lane Kirkland Research Scholarship Program at Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznan, Poland). Vadym Osin<\/h3>

Vadym Osin is a political scientist, an Associate Professor at the Department of History and Political Theory, Institute of Human and Social Sciences, Dnipro University of Technology (Ukraine). He received his Ph.D. in Political Science in 2003 from Dnipropetrovsk National University. The thesis title is 'Content Analysis as a Means of Political Science: Constitution and Reproduction.'  His main research interests include the politics of knowledge in the post-Soviet space, the impact of Ukraine\u2019s neopatrimonial political regime on academia, the sociology of science, postcolonial theory, and the history of political science.  He is the author of more than 70 studies, including monographs, and has developed numerous academic courses for BA and MA students enrolled in the Political Science program. Oleksandr Fisun is a professor of political science and the department head at the V.N. His research interests concentrate on Ukrainian and post-Soviet politics. Kateryna Ruban<\/h3>

Kateryna Ruban is a historian who received her Ph.D. from New York University in September 2022. In her dissertation, Dr. Ruban explores the role of abortion in Soviet life and argues that for doctors, this medical procedure was a part of female emancipation both in the early Soviet and postwar periods. Her findings are based on a microhistory of a provincial hospital in the town of Irshava, Transcarpathia (Western Ukraine), and a memoir by a Soviet Ukrainian obstetrician-gynecologist who worked there. Earlier, Kateryna earned a master\u2019s degree at the Central European University in Hungary and at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Ukraine. Before coming to the US, she was a part of the Visual Culture Research Center in Kyiv. Kateryna has published numerous short articles on current political events in both Ukrainian and English. During her stay at IERES, Dr. Ruban will turn her dissertation into a book, provisionally entitled Female Emancipation in OBGYNs\u2019 Hands: Dr. Nina Holopatiuk and the Short History of Abortion in the USSR. Iryna Baltaziuk completed her Doctor of Philosophy study in Theory and History of Art at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv, Ukraine. For the past year, she has been affiliated as a visiting scholar at Indiana University in Bloomington (USA), as part of the nonresidential program. In 2022, with the support of a scholarship from the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, Iryna published the book \u201cPortrait archive: the war diary\u201d dedicated to her personal experience of life in the war. His research interests are focused on comparative studies in Intellectual History, Islamic Studies, and the Anthropology of Religion. Dr. Yarosh has actively participated in academic mobility programs in Denmark, Germany, Poland, Sweden, the US, and the UK. He has published extensively both in Ukraine and abroad on topics such as Islam and Sufism in Ukraine and Central-Eastern Europe, Political Islam, Religious Studies, and Cultural Studies theory. Myroslava Lendel is a Professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Uzhhorod National University, Director of the Research Institute of Central Europe, and one of the founders of the Research and Development Center \u201cBorderland\u201d based in Uzhhorod, Ukraine. She focuses on local governance and regionalism in Central Europe, as well as on security in the region, particularly its migration and cross-border aspects. Dr. Lendel is the author of several publications on the Europeanization of policy in Ukraine, as well as its subregional and regional integration. She developed a methodology for analyzing local political institutions, processes, and citizen cultural orientations in countries undergoing systemic transformation. He received his PhD in Political Science in 2010 (with the dissertation \u201cComparative analysis of government stability in Central European countries and Ukraine\u201d) and ScD in Political Science in 2018 (with the dissertation \u201cInstitutional, procedural, political and behavioral attributes and varieties of semi-presidential system of government: comparative analysis on the example of European countries\u201d), both from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. Dr. Lytvyn specializes in political institutions and systems, party and electoral systems, political regimes, systems of government, semi-presidentialism, inter-institutional relations, and constitutional engineering. He is the author of more than 100 studies, including monographs, and has developed numerous academic courses. Dr. Lytvyn also works as an analyst, political scientist, and head of research programs at the Center for Political Studies in Ukraine. From 2009 to 2014, she provided policy analysis and consultations to the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities. Yaryna Zakalska is a leading folklorist at the Folklore and Ethnography Centre of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology of the Taras Shevchenko National University, Kyiv. Her main interests are connected with the folklore of difficult existential social periods. She has studied the folklore of the Revolution of Dignity and the modern Russian-Ukrainian War before 2021. During her fellowship, she will compare folklore material created after the 2022 full-scale Russian invasion with that of the Ukrainian resistance movements of the 20th century and the armed struggles of other ethnic groups. Dr. Zakalska received her Ph.D. in Folklore studies in 2021. She has taught at the National Aviation University (Kyiv) and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (2016-2017, 2020-2021). His journalism career began as an intern, reporter, editor, and anchor in local, national, and international newsrooms, including the BBC Ukrainian Service (2002-2003), The Guardian (2003), and Radio Deutsche Welle (2004-2006). His dissertation (2007) was titled \u201cEthical intellectualism in publicistic writings of Ivan Dziuba and Vaclav Gavel\u201d. His areas of interest include new media, social networks, modern methods of information manipulation, journalism standards, media ethics, and cognitive warfare. In 2018-2019, he was appointed a Fulbright Scholar to the US, working on a project examining the influence of fake news on journalism. He periodically conducts trainings and masterclasses as an expert for the Pypyp Orlyk Institute of Democracy in different cities of Ukraine.
